Finca Weddings in Mallorca
A finca is the classic Mallorca wedding: a private sandstone estate with olive trees, a walled courtyard for the ceremony and dinner under strings of light. It is also the most production-heavy format on the island.
What a finca wedding actually involves
Most fincas are dry-hire venues: you rent the estate and bring in catering, furniture, bar, lighting, sound and staff. Budget for a full production layer on top of the venue fee, and confirm generator capacity, kitchen access and the local noise curfew before you sign.
The interior plain around Santa María, Binissalem and Sencelles has the highest density of estates, with Palma airport 25–35 minutes away and guest hotels in Palma or Alcúdia.
Choosing the right estate
Compare fincas by four numbers: seated capacity, on-site bedrooms, music curfew, and whether the caterer list is open or exclusive. Estates with 8–14 bedrooms allow the couple and immediate family to stay on site and turn the wedding into a two-day event.
Shade matters. An August ceremony without mature trees or a pergola is uncomfortable for guests; ask to see the site at your ceremony hour, not at midday.
Vendors that make a finca work
Catering, marquee and AV are the three suppliers that decide whether a rural estate feels effortless. Add a florist familiar with the Mediterranean heat — locally grown olive, eucalyptus and dried palettes hold up far better than imported blooms.
