Caldera Sunset Weddings in Santorini

Santorini, Greece

Santorini's whitewashed cliffs above the caldera give every ceremony a built-in sunset backdrop, unmatched anywhere in the Aegean.

The wedding season runs April to October, with May, June and September the most sought-after months for mild heat and clear skies. Oia's famous sunset slots are booked by local authorities on a rotating basis, so most caldera-view hotels reserve specific terrace windows between 7 and 8pm; intimate weddings of 20 to 60 guests are the norm given the narrow cliffside terraces.

Santorini's airport receives direct flights from Athens (45 minutes) and seasonal charters from major European cities, while the old port below Fira still requires a cable car or donkey path for some cliffside venues. Because space is tight, many planners cap vendor access times and use golf carts rather than cars to move between ceremony and reception villages.
